You can read more about this at washingtonpost.com

The Cooler's Quick reactions
  • Bayh and Edwards are extremely happy about this, especially Bayh.
  • This narrows the Hillary alternative field by 1.
  • That Allen v. Warner dream matchup went up in smoke pretty quick huh.
  • He gave an eloquent statement that shows how good a candidate he would have been, make sure to read that while you are on the Posts website

Well, it should come as no surprise, given the rampant rumors of Warner's heavy drinking and women problems. Nobody wants to put their family through that. Kudos to him for working on those problems first.

I just read Warner’s statement on his PAC’s site. As an early Warner supporter, I am obviously very, very disappointed. I strongly feel that this country desperately needs someone like Warner – a true uniter. Eight more years of Clinton/Bush-era polarization will not be good for this country.

I think Warner’s statement also reveals a sad truth. He may be too smart and have too much common sense regarding balance in life to run for president.

There is no room in the Liberal, err...democratic party for "moderates" like Warner & Bayh. Neither one has a snowball's chance at their party's nomination.

I heard the same thing from this person that has been said to have diarrhea of the mouth earlier this morning 10:44.

That's unfortunate.

Everybody get ready...this story is going to be reprinted (with changing names) for the next 4-6 months.

Hillary is buying/blackmailing them out. When it's down to about 3, she'll come in.
