RGA Follow Up

We got a post in the tipjar that makes a great point. Romney has probably raised a crapload of money in Massachusettes. Those donors are likely pressuring him into spending money there. That's clearly the other side to this story.

That being said, there are A LOT of competitive Governor's races out there that could use the $$$. And it's still questionable that the RGA puts Mitt himself in the ad. You could've run Healey ads without a moderately popular Governor in them.

Hmmmm....

What the are you talking about? In his senate race Lighfoot had Grassley in most of his non-sucking ass TV ads, in the gov races both Lightfoot and Gross used popular govs Branstad and Ray in their campaigns. If I was Healey, I'd want my Gov to be very involved in keeping the seat in GOP hands, especially if I was his LT. Gov.

I bet for every dollar the RGA raises out of Iowa we get 25 back. Massachusettes I bet is one of those states that gets shafted by donating millions and getting very little back in comparison.

Its a catch 22. He's gov. of Massachusetts and Chairman of the RGA and a potential rock star candidate for prez, there's just no way his opponents aren't going to try and take cheap shots at a guy trying to do his job. If he does'nt then the attacks are worse.

This is sooo tranparent and quite out of character for the Cooler.

You'll find me over on Krusty from now on....

Uh Yoda, Romneys unfavorables are higher than his favorables. Wouldn't call him popular. And this post is correcting our last one that was a little biased admittedly. So, not sure what more you want from us.

Wow CC - based upon what? Polls that have about as much usefulness as tissue paper at this point--when name recognition is all that can be known for sure?

This from the CC that calls him "one of the frontrunners" and 7.2 odds? Have you listened to O'Reilly or (as of today) Medved lately? Not popular??

Never seek to lose a Jedi among the ranks! WAR Yoda and The Force!

Kristine . . . I think CC was talking about his popularity in Mass only (which, BTW, was amazingly great through his Big Dig leadership for a socially and fiscally conservative Republican in uber-liberal Mass let's all remember).

Who cares about his popularity in Mass? Being disapproved of by that populus is a badge of honor!

Romney's rise to national popularity will be something to behold. We're all getting the sneak peek now.

I find Yoda's snit with the CC to be a bit interesting considering that he uses his home blog (krusty) to promote his candidates in an oh so subliminal way. Those watching it during the primary could tell. It's ok. Not a problem. Fully expected and very clever.

He probably just doesn't like it that someone else came up with the same idea and is adding some full bodied input, aka criticism, of his candidates that we might not hear about on Krusty.

It's politics and this is ground zero on the rhetorical aspects for the grass roots. We are all sharpening our rhetorical skills for the long debate ahead by hearing the pros and cons of each candidate by those that know them best.

I love it and keep it up CC!

Sorry Kristine you jumped the gun on that one. We are referring to Romney's favorability in his home state. Which is 40/48 in the most recent poll.

Now that doesn't matter AT ALL when it comes to getting the GOP nod, given that his home state is Kennedy/Kerry country. But it is significant in the context.

Why would you want a guy who 60 percent of the state don't view favorably in an ad on your behalf if you are Lt. Gov Healey.
