The O'Bama Factor
McCain 41%
Obama 38%
McCain 45%
Clinton 39%
We at the Cooler find this poll interesting for a number of reasons.
1. The poll finds that Obama has similar crossover appeal as McCain
2. If polls right now are mainly about name ID then how is someone like Obama doing so well?
3. When Obama gets in the race, how much room is left? Just like if Rudy gets in how much room will be left?

Interesting that FoxNews only polled McCain.
I wonder who they think is going to win the Primary?
:)
McCain is used as the polling benchmark because he's a media whore with the highest current name ID.
Unfortunately for him, the press doesn't nominate candidates in our party.
A "media whore"? Really, do you think that is the case or do you think the media puts him on TV and in the newspapers because he is a man of character, respect, has the experience and knowledge to actually provide insight on a wide spectrum of topics?
Or do you think your boy Romney should be put on TV more because he is pretty?

Gee, you think it could be because Obama's name has been in the news constantly for two weeks? He's a media darling, like McCain and Rudy. Of course he's got name ID.
3. When Obama gets in the race, how much room is left? Just like if Rudy gets in how much room will be left?
The real answer is: No one will be to the LEFT of either of them. Rudy is going to be the liberal in the race, joined on that wing with Pataki. Obama will have stiff competition in old Lady Hillary. She's not out of this yet.
This Obama hysteria is out of control. Don't get all excited just because Chris Matthews and his media cronies are pushing him furiously to avoid a Hillary campaign.
Obama has about as much business as my dog Rowdy Fred.
Other than being less openly anti-American culture than most Democrats fwhat does he bring to the table as President-not a candidate-but as the actual President?
I don't see how Obama brings anything less to the table than any of the other hopefuls - on either side of the aisle.
"Obama" is one consenant away from "Osama." He's a liberal black guy that got elected for nothing more.
*and* nothing more - not "for"
