Why it’s the Big 3

Something we didn’t give enough attention to in yesterday’s post on Mitt’s events… We saw clear evidence for why it is the “Big 3” not the “Big 2” and why Romney has separated himself from Huckabee and Brownback and any other of the 2nd tier candidates.

Drawing somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 people to two events on a weekday in January 2007 in Waterloo and Dubuque is very strong. We can’t conceive of a situation where any of the other non-celebrity (McCain/Rudy/Obama/Clinton) candidates could have achieved that goal. Romney’s team in Iowa continues to reinforce their organization strength and we will continue to monitor whether or not he can keep up this torrid pace.

Well, Huckabee just announced he is running on Meet the Press. Now Romney actually has competition for the social conservative vote, so lets see what happens.

Huck and Mitt are very good friends. Don't be astonished when Huck gets to be Mitt's VP runningmate.

Also, Mitt has assembled the A-Team in Iowa politics to run his campaign. The events over the weekend and the reports from varuious sources all did not surprise me.

Hannibal Smith = Gentry Collins
Templeton Peck = David Kochel
B.A. Baracus = Tim Albrecht
"Howling Mad" Murdoch = Yoda
Amy Allen = Nicole Schlinger

This is just the beginning. People are tired of phonies and will respond very well to Huckabee. Mitt should worry about his standing in the polls.

The A-team? Funny. Ha ha. Don't think Yoda is on the payroll (at least officially that is). Where is Doug Gross?

BA = Albrect?

he doesn't even have muscles

maybe if Leon Mosley or Isiah McGee were with Romney

timmy fits the Amy role better than Nicole does

It's spelled Albrecht. Leon or Isaiah would both make great BAs, but take it easy on Tim.

Tim's really a bad-ass in disguise. If nothing else, he can kill with his vicious rhetoric.

Go Tim!

Maybe Huckabee and Brownback can co-sign each others' bank loans so they can hire staff and open Iowa offices.

I say we nominate Rudy so all the SoCos stay home again, proving that they don't have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Worked well for Nussle, didn't it?
