The New York Duo-

Hillary and Rudy will both be coming to Iowa soon according to the Gazette and Register respectively. Rudy ducked out of the match-up heard round the world in 2000 and let Hillary cruise to a Senate seat. If you believe the polling tea leaves Rudy might get a 2nd chance at Mrs. Clinton. The Register story also confirmed what we reported here first at the Cooler. Mike Duhaimeite Tony Delgado will be in Iowa for Rudy, according to the Register piece he will not be the campaign manager, instead he will serve as Political Director.

I really doubt Hillary will win on my side. I think/hope Obama or Edwards will beat her. Bill Richardson may the only second-tier candidate that could surge, having by far the best resume of all candidates on either side of the aisle. (Of course, we may be a bit reluctant to go with the resume guy after going that route in 2000 and 2004.) And of course, Gore could stir the pot by getting in. Bottom line: Anyone but Hillary. I hope many of my fellow D's agree.

"You've... shown a contempt of Congress that borders on a supreme arrogance... You will never again receive the support of the Senate of the United States for any office to which you might be appointed."

when was that quote? Was that during the time Clintons were selling our nuclear secrets to the chinese when richardson was the energy secretary and on whose watch those secrets were stolen err, I mean sold for campaign contributions?

I think that little scandle will surface again and hurt richardson. It's almost as bad as Sandy Bergler and stealing the secrets from the national archives to protect Bill's testimony before the 9-11 commission.

I think it was when Robert Byrd was wearing his white hood as the leader of the Ku Klux Klan, wasn't it? Good thing they used torches to burn their crosses, an electric start might have been unavailable with Richardson's energy policies.

There's a great account of it on Richardson's wikipedia bio.
