Romney Brief

Romney today hired Majority Leader John Boehner's Press Secretary, Kevin Madden, to be the campaigns national press secretary- once the exploratory committee is officially announced. Read more about Romneys fledgling national organization here in a great breakdown by Chris Cillizza.

"fledgling"?

How do you McCainiacs figure?

Well since they don't have a full staff, aren't even in exploratory mode, the midterms happened 3 weeks ago, and we're 13 months from the first caucus- we'd say all the campaigns are fledgling- wouldn't you??

But way to be over sensitive.

In fact "fledgling" might be too strong. Romney hasn't even started his campaign yet. So "soon to be" would have been better.

Keep the good work Cooler.

Is that the best move? Didn't the Boehner party lose about 30 seats and plunge into the minority for the first time in 12 years.

The guy might be a genius, and I hope he is 'cause we need every good brain we can get, but I'm skittish about the Congressional leadership that helped produce this debacle.

Nice try Ted, but you know Boehner came into to leadership halfway through the term via Delay being ousted so that he could attempt to right the ship. Unfortunately, it was too late to save the day.

Are you just pissed becuase you burned the Romney bridge and are starting to see that he's the guy for the GOP?

Ted,

...The Boehner Party...

Isn't that the same party you are a part of? You are part of the Iowa GOP leadership. If your statement holds true about about Boehner staff, you too are to blame for the loss in Iowa. More blame goes to you and the rest of the SCC rather than 26 year old staffers.

Ted Is the solution not the problem. As few of you know Nussle had "freeze List" and Ted was put on this another words they tried to get rid of Ted. Ted was another victim of Nussle's arrogance.

My guess is that the little napoleon came up with the freeze list. Tell us more? Who else was on it?

Ditto on the FU to AD

Nussle froze out the state central committee and the county central committees. They cut off their nose to spite their face and they lost.

Nice strategic decision by the miniature Napoleon.

Mini nappy had a big list! Ironically since the disolution of the nussle campaign this is becoming more public. They were picking their appointees before october. After the disaster with the LT candiate fallouts (they promised alot of people this postion) they had quite a few complaints and the people who were not happy and would not blindly follow them were put on a "List".

Little nappy, (Andrew Dorr) also collected lots of information on people here in Iowa for his personal records that he plans to use against people!

Shut up. Ooooh, big bad Andrew Dorr is making a file on people like J. Edgar Hoover. He probably has a picture of you in a dress and lipstick dancing with your dog! Better watch out!

Sounds in retrospect like being on the list is a good thing. Those people could see the disaster looming while the little Napolean rearranged the deck chairs on the nussletanic and fiddled while Nussle, Italy was burning.

The freeze list is the who's who of activists that were not employed by the nussle camp. Dorr has a big mouth when drinking. He also left it an email that escaped the office.

The good thing is whatever Campaign Nick ryan and andrew dorr join, the activists are sure not to join when this list is public.

They were not the only ones involved in the "freeze list".

The Cooler Staff has a busy morning and then comes back to find that the comment section has turned into Krusty.

Let's keep it clean around here boys and girls.

Aside to Ted, Kevin Madden was Delay's Press Secretary too and Delay managed to keep us in leadership for quite a while so I think your criticism cuts both ways.

Who was on the list?

I know Yoda and the crew met with them/us to hand over any advice or info from the VP campaign that could be helpful but told them/us from the outset he wasn't interested in working for Jim. I know because I was there that day. It was quite the discussion that he did not even want a job. I bet he was on the top of the list for that. Dorr seemed pretty pissed about it as was I.

Let's try and stay away from anymore staffer bashing unless it is particularly relevant or a defense of something that has already been written.

Cooler, This isn't random staffer bashing that is tres chic on Krusty. The freeze list is very serious business. At the very least, it certainly is in the top 10 list of many reasons why Nussle lost. Whoever decided that was a good idea should never ever get another job in politics that involves cultivating the grass roots - 100% of campaigns by the way.

This litle dirty secret may be the nexus of the entire implosion of the entire party. Now we understand all the grassroots animosity to Napolean. Now, we understand why events to turn out and motivate voters were openly sabotaged by Dorr, er I mean, Napolean.

The donors should ask Nussle for their money back. This was campaign malpractice. His loss can no longer be blamed on the general anti-republican tide. It was bad strategic decisions by Nussles team.

The freeze list is outrageous and is worthy of further discussion and investigation.

Who's on the list?

We think it's a fairly pertinent subject which is why we haven't deleted the comments. But its on the line and I think it can certainly be breached without name-calling staffers like we are all in 6th Grade.

How could I be on the list? I don't think they know who I am. But, it would be cool if they did.
